Kuwait Civil ID Renewal in 2024- A Step-by-Step Guide

Kuwait’s civil ID is a crucial document for locals and residents in the state. It contains personal information like name, birthdate, residency status, and a unique identification number. Kuwait Civil ID Renewal 2024

As mentioned above, the Kuwait civil ID card’s validity is 5-10 years, depending on the nationality. Thus, if your ID Card has expired or is nearing expiry, you should check its status through the PACI website or the Kuwait Government online portal and initiate the civil ID renewal request. Depending on individual needs and requirements, there are two types of civil ID renewal requests.

1. Regular Renewal: Regular civil ID renewal is suitable for those individuals whose civil ID has either expired or will expire soon. They will submit regular renewal requests to renew their IDs within 30 days of application.

• A copy of your Passport, especially the title, the first, and the last page
• Your old or expired Civil ID Card

Civil ID Renewal Process

1-Online Civil ID Renewal

Do you know that you can apply for Civil ID renewal online? Kuwait’s Government provides citizens with an online ID renewal facility through the PACI website. The detailed steps are:

STEP 1: Visit the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) Website: https://services.paci.gov.kw/card/inquiry. Click on Civil Card services and select the Card Renewal option.

STEP 2: Enter your Civil ID number or envelope number in the requisite place.

STEP 3: Upload all the required documents following the onscreen instructions. Remember to keep the documents with you while applying.

STEP 4: After submission of the documents, you will be directed to the online Civil ID Card renewal fee. You can pay the fee with the K-net channel from a credit or debit card.

STEP 5: Now, you can click the ‘submit application’ tab because it is complete in all respects, and fees have also been paid. Wait for its approval, and you are done with your Civil ID Renewal.

2-Offline Civil ID Renewal

Suppose you do not have internet access or are not used to using a PC. In that case, you can submit a Civil ID Renewal application to the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) office. The detailed steps are as follows:

STEP 1: Visit any PACI Branch or Service Center and take the Civil ID Renewal application form. You can find PACI branches at https://paci.gov.kw by clicking on the branches tab. A list of PACI branches with their address, working hours, and contact information will appear on the screen.

STEP 2: Fill out the form with accurate details to avoid rejection. You can also avail of a filling facility by paying a little more to some agents. After filling out the form, attach all the required documents with the application form.

STEP 3: Now, pay the Civil ID Renewal fee at the counter

STEP 4: After filling out the form and fee payment, you must go to another counter for fingerprints and photographs. 

STEP 5: Submit the application form and await approval after fee payment. You will be issued a new Civil ID Card with new issuance and expiry dates if approved. Remember to visit the branch you applied to to collect your Civil ID.

• Supply of inaccurate information from the applicant
• Incomplete or not adequately filled documents

Civil ID Renewal Status Check

Like a civil ID status check, you can also check the renewal status of your civil ID online. The detailed process is as follows:

• Go to the PACI website https://services.paci.gov.kw/ and click the civil card services tab.
• Now, go to the card status icon and click.
• Enter your Civil ID Card number in the box and hit the ‘submit’ button.
• The current civil ID status will be displayed on the screen.

You can also enquire about the status of your civil ID by calling the voicemail number. The detailed process includes:

• Call customer service or call the voicemail number 188988 from your mobile device.
• Select your preferred language, either English or Arabic.
• Now, click ‘1’ from the Keypad of your mobile to enter query services.
• Upon prompting, enter your civil ID number, and the status is displayed on your mobile screen.
