MOI Traffic Violation-How to Check and Pay Fines Online in Qatar

Qatar is among the most beautiful countries in the world, having ultra-modern architecture with Islamic touches. Therefore, driving on Qatar roads is always smooth and enjoyable if you are aware of the traffic rules and regulations in the State. Recently, it has introduced heavy MOI traffic violation fines and imprisonments to minimize traffic violations and road accidents. Thus, if you are relocating to this Middle Eastern State, get yourself acquainted with different traffic violations and the fine for each.

MOI Traffic Violation

A traffic violation occurs when a person driving a car or vehicle violates the traffic rules implemented by the government. In simple words, if a vehicle driver does not adhere to the regulations enforced by the government, he is committing a violation. There are different kinds of traffic violations in Qatar, each with a different fine. Sometimes, the most experienced drivers commit minor mistakes that come under traffic violations, and they have to pay fines. Due to strict traffic rules in Qatar, it is better to pay the fine instantly when a traffic violation ticket occurs.

MOI Qatar Traffic Violation Check

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has made it convenient for drivers to check their traffic violations, fines, and even online payment methods in Qatar. There are two ways to check Qatar traffic violations:

2. MOI Traffic Violation Check by Metrash2 App

1-Qatar Traffic Violation Check by MOI Website

In Qatar, the safety of the road users and management of traffic violations and fine collection is the responsibility of the Qatar Ministry of Interior. The Ministry carries out all its operations through its online portal. Therefore, the drivers receiving traffic tickets can check their type of violation its fine, and pay it through the portal also. The detailed process to check traffic violations online through the MOI portal is as follows:

Visit MOI Portal

If you do not want to consume your mobile’s memory by installing apps, it is the best option to access the MOI portal through your favorite browser, either on a PC or your mobile device, through the official link: https://portal.moi.gov.qa/. Navigate to the ‘Ministry Services’ tab and click on it.

Click Inquiries and Requests

From the dropdown menu, click the inquiries and requests tab. A new window will open on your screen with traffic services at the top.

Select Traffic Services/Inquiries

Now, look at the vertical sidebar and click on the traffic services/inquiries tab. It will open all traffic-related services on your screen. The services include traffic violations, traffic accident reports, and inquiries about certificates.

Navigate to Traffic Violation

If you want to know about traffic violations, choose the MOI traffic violations tab and click on it. A new window will pop up, asking you to enter details.

Enter Details

The MOI traffic violation inquiry will give you four options to check your MOI traffic violation. You have to choose your preferred method and enter the details it requires. A brief detail of each method is as under:

MOI Traffic Violation Check by Plate Number: When you click on the ‘Vehicle Number’ option, a new window opens with some blank fields. Enter your vehicle plate number in the first blank field and select the kind of vehicle from the dropdown list of different kinds of vehicles. The list contains Private Vehicles, Government vehicles, Diplomatic vehicles, Police Vehicle, Police Motorcycle, Private Motorcycle, Taxi, Commercial Vehicle, Private Transpiration, and Heavy Equipment.

Qatar Violation Check by QID Number: You can also check MOI Qatar traffic violation by your Qatar ID number. It is a unique number issued to every Qatari citizen and residents for their identification. All the traffic violations against your ID will be displayed.

MOI Traffic Violation Inquiry by Company ID: If you commit a mistake while driving a company vehicle, it can be checked by entering the company ID in the specific field. Upon entering the company ID, all traffic violations done by company-owned vehicles will be displayed.

Check Traffic Violation Online for Foreign Vehicles: Do you know that you can take your vehicle if you are a resident of any of the GCC countries? Thus, if you are driving a foreign registered vehicle and commit a traffic violation, it will be checked through the ‘Foreign Vehicle’ tab.

Fill Captcha

After you have selected the method and the type of vehicle and entered the respective details, you will have to fill in the captcha carefully. Entering a wrong captcha code will change it at once, and you will be prompted to enter details again and fill in the new captcha.

Submit Inquiry

Now, press the submit button, and you are done. All the MOI traffic violations will be displayed on your screen. Sometimes, it asks you about the vehicle owner’s QID number. If asked, enter their QID and submit again.

Qatar Traffic Fine Payment

If there is a fine imposed for Qatar traffic violations, you can pay it through the portal. Log in to the portal through your Smart card, and go to the traffic violations inquiry page. Upon checking violations, you can find the Qatar traffic fine check and pay it online through the ‘settlement of violations’ tab that appears below your inquiries page. You can also print your IMO traffic violation details.

2-MOI Traffic Violation Check by Metrash2 App

Metrash2 App is the application launched by the Qatar Ministry of Interior that lets you check your traffic violations on the go and pay the violation fines instantly from your mobile devices. The detailed process is as follows:

Download and Install App

If you want to check your MOI traffic violations on the go, download the Metrash2 app. Remember that the mobile application is available both on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. If you are an Android user, download it from the Google Play Store. However, iOS users can download it from the Apple App Store.

Set Language

The default language of the Metrash2 app is Arabic. So, you have to change the language from Arabic to English for convenient usage. You will find the language option at the bottom right corner of your device.

Log In Metrash2 App

Remember that you can not use the Metrash2 App without your Qatar ID number. Sign up to create a new account by entering the necessary details. Now, log in to your Metrash2 App account and click next to authenticate.

Navigate to the Traffic Option

After authentication, a new page with various services will be displayed. You will have to navigate to the ‘Traffic’ option at the top right corner of your device and click it. You will see three options: traffic violations, violation images, and violation objections.

Tap Traffic Violation Tab

On clicking the traffic violation tab, a new window will appear asking you to enter the QID number or Plate Number of your vehicle and validate. You will see a list of all traffic violations. Choose any of the violations for review.

Pay MOI Traffic Violation Fine

Upon reviewing any of the listed violations, you will see different payment options below the list. You can choose to pay via credit/debit card or pay from a bank account. Fill in the necessary details and proceed with the payment. As you pay a fine, the traffic violation record will disappear from the list.
